#WATCH – Ireland will be well up for the challenge

Irish Rugby coach Andy Farrell

Irish Rugby coach Andy Farrell has given an upbeat assessment of the tour to New Zealand ahead of tomorrow’s opening game against the Maori All Blacks.

The touring party arrived on three different flights but have trained together since the earlier part of this week.

โ€œWeโ€™re here, weโ€™re glad to be here,โ€ Farrell said. โ€œWeโ€™ve had a few daysโ€™ training and weโ€™re up and running.

โ€œItโ€™s huge. Weโ€™ve missed it. This group, we should have gone to Australia and Fiji in the last few years and weโ€™ve some guys that are on 20 or so caps that have never toured before.

โ€œSo itโ€™s pretty important that we get away together and enjoy each otherโ€™s company but also test ourselves against the best team in the world.โ€
