Limerick are in with a chance of reaching the quarter-finals of the All-Ireland Camogie Championship after a 2-11 to 0-12 win over Down in Cappamore.
They now face a do or die clash with Antrim next time out for a place in this year’s quarter-final and Limerick will be full of confidence after following up a win over Offaly with yesterday’s victory.
John Lillis’s side didn’t have it all their own way, however, as they were 0-10 to 1-1 at the break but a stunning second half from Caoimhe Costello helped them to the win.
It was Costello that brought her side back into the game with that goal just before half time and finished with 2-10 at the end of the game.
Limerick’s other score came from Monaleen’s Caoimhe Lyons in added time. Their final group game with Antrim will take place on July 2 at a venue that is yet to be decided.
The Limerick junior camogie side also secured victory in Cappamore thanks to a 1-11 to 1-7 win over Down as well.
