A brilliant second half performance from Waterford helped them to a 4-0 win over Treaty United on Friday evening in the Airtricity League First Division.
The victory moves Waterford into third place in the league and secured their fifth win on the bounce.
The sides were level at the break but second half goals from Roland Idowu, Louis Britton, Cian Kavanagh and Shane Griffin.
Treaty had a brilliant chance to take the lead in the first on 41 minutes when Matt Keane turned, pounced on a loose ball and smashed his effort toward the goal from inside the penalty area.
Unfortunately for Treaty, Waterford’s keeper was up to the challenge. A Waterford chance before half tome also produced an excellent save from Treaty keeper Brady. The score was 0-0 going into the break.
After the break Waterford took control of the game, the first goal came on the 51st minute as Louis Britton fired home after a rebounded shot from Roland Idowu.
A two goal flurry followed ten minutes later as on the 62nd minute as Roland Idowu took his chance this time around. Shane Griffin put the tie to bed on the 66th minute with the third goal of the match.
The final goal would come in the dying embers of the game as Cian Kavanagh rose highest in the box and headed the ball into the net on the 91st minute of play.
