Limerick hurlers return to action for the Munster final on June 5 with some players returning to full fitness.
Cian Lynch, as expected, will not be back in time for the final against Clare, Limerick manager John Kiely has confirmed.
The reigning Hurler of the Year injured his hamstring in the round two win over Waterford and was expected to miss the remainder of the Munster championship.
It was hoped that the Patrickswell man would be back in contention for the final but Kiely insisted that โhe wonโt be back by Sunday week,โ when discussing the lead up to the game.
There was positive news on the injury front in regards to Aaron Gillane, Darragh OโDonovan and Cathal OโNeill with each of the trio fully recovered from their respective injuries.
Meanwhile, Peter Casey and Barry Murphy are making progress in their returns from knee ligament injuries as Kiely gave an update on the panel ahead of the Munster final.
โThe group is making progress in that regard. Will it make a difference to Cian, no it wonโt he wonโt be back by Sunday week. But Barry Murphy and Peter Casey are still making very significant progress in their recoveries, getting nearer to a full recovery, but again thatโs a little bit off yet..โ
โAaron Gillane has resumed training, Darragh OโDonavan has resumed full training. He had a little irritation, hence why we wanted to be prudent with himโ
โCathal OโNeill has some ligament damage from the Tipp game so he trained fully last night and is fully recovered.
Limerick play Clare in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship Final on Sunday, June 5 in Thurles at 4pm.
