Limerick will contest their first Munster final in twelve years later this month.
After overcoming Tipperary to seal a place in the Munster football final against Kerry, three Limerick players have been chosen on the GAA.ie Football Team of the Week.
The trio chosen are Donal O’Sullivan, Brian Fanning and Cillian Fahy with each playing an integral role in the six point win over Tipperary in Thurles.
Donal O’Sullivan kept another clean sheet as the Limerick captain was also flawless on kickouts throughout the course of the game.
Brian Fanning, after scoring a sensational goal in the quarter-final, showed his man-marking expertise, keeping the shackles on 2020 All-Star Conor Sweeney, keeping him scoreless.
It is a second successive selection for the Pallasgreen man.
And continuing his spectacular scoring year, Cillian Fahy clipped over three points from midfield including the opener inside 12 seconds as the Drom Broadford man set the tone.
Derry, who also sealed their place in a provincial final, have four chosen while Leinster finalists Kildare and Dublin have three each on the team.
There is one each from Westmeath and Monaghan.
