Rekindle micro-festival reconnects generations and celebrates traditional skills

COMMON Knowledge is a non-profit social enterprise set to empower people with the skills for a more sustainable life. This free intergenerational festival will feature live traditional music, poetry readings, a story-telling workshop and live craft demonstrations.
Local makers from the older community will demonstrate and share their skills in knitting, rug making, wood-turning, foraging and horse shoe making. Aindreas de Stack will be running a story-telling workshop with the Doolin Folklore Group featuring local traditional musicians.
Erin McClure, co-founder of Common Knowledge social enterprise running the festival, says that, โ€œIf we are going to learn to live in a way which treads lightly on our planet, we have lots to learn from our elders. They were masters at living within their means, learning to โ€˜make doโ€™, making and creating what they needed and supporting each other as a community.โ€
Rekindle, a one day free event takes place at The Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon this Sunday May 15 from midday. Tickets
