Limerick minor hurlers bow out of Munster after defeat to Waterford

LIMERICK are out of the Munster MHC following a 2-12 to 0-10 loss to Waterford in tonight’s quarter final in Kilmallock.

Kevin O’Hagan’s side never really got going and were well beaten all over the field by a Waterford side that had lost their two games so far in the Championship.

Waterford had already put five points on the board before Limerick scored their first point courtesy of a hard earned Ciaran McMahon effort from play.

Frees from Darren Collopy and Bradley Moran followed but any hopes of a Limerick comeback evaporated late in the half when Waterford fired in goals from Peter Cummins and Jack Twomey.

Conor responded with an excellent point from play but Waterford were in full control at the short whistle, leading 2-8 to 0-4.

Limerick won the second half six to four, however, they never came close to getting the goals that would get back into the contest and it was not to be and they exit the Munster MHC at the last eight stage.
