RIVERFEST Limerick will get off to a spectacular start this weekend with a special flyover by the Air Corps.
All eyes will be firmly fixed to the skies above Limerick from 1.30pm on Friday 29 April for the flyover which will feature a coordinated low formation flight display by the highly skilled Air Corps Cadets, marking the start of the first in-person Riverfest since 2019.
The fixed wing aircraft will make several passes up and down the course of the River Shannon through the city, which should make for a spectacular riverside aviation display for spectators.
The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick Cllr Daniel Butler will welcome the flyover high up in the turret in King John’s Castle, and weather permitting the aircraft will tip their wings in salute.
The best viewing points will be anywhere along the Three Bridges route from 1.30pm on Friday.
The flyover is the first of three public events on offer by the Irish Defence Forces for Riverfest Limerick.
