LIMERICK City and County Council have confirmed that they have received funding from the National Transport Authority (NTA) for extensive footpath refurbishment to be carried out this year between Clarina Cross and Ballyduane.

Welcoming the announcement local Fine Gael councillor Dan McSweeney said, “This is an issue I have worked on with the local community and Limerick City and County Council over the last two years, we have seen some sections of the footpath becoming nearly unwalkable due to its condition.

I am delighted that at last we can advance the works and I anticipate that they will get underway over the coming months,” Cllr McSweeney added.
