MUNSTER face Leinster this Saturday in Thomond Park in the first time these two sides meet in the URC this season as Munster look to close the gap in the Championship
Munster host Leinster in Thomond Park this weekend in a game that is set to excite all fans in attendance and watching from home. It’s a game that Munster could capitalize from and under the circumstances need to capitalize from.
If Munster win this game they will be within arms reach with both Leinster and Ulster, who are 1st and 2nd in the championship. Munster still have another game to play against Leinster and one against Ulster putting the Championship in there hands.
Looking to the weekend, Damian De Allende gives thoughts on the game after news broke on Monday that he will be leaving the province.
De Allende is hoping for Thomond to be sold out at the weekend:
” Yeah obviously I’m looking forward to it, obviously we want to see a big sea of red but I think also I’m also exited to see the blue in the stadium also.
” I haven’t experienced a full Thomond Park yet also, I’m hoping it will be close to sold out or at least sold out on Saturday. So I’m looking forward to seeing the red and the blueness in the stadium, obviously I’ve seen it on T.V when I was watching back home in my younger days.”
The Munster center accepts the face that it will be a tough game playing Leinster:
” I would say quite tough a bit more, it’s quite challenging because it almost feels like a test because they do have quite a few internationals so they have a lot of experience in the team so I think what they bring to the match, the intensity is a lot higher, the physicality is similar maybe.
“It’s one game as a player you want to challenge yourself against obviously one of the best teams in Europe over the past few years so like I said the whole time you want to test yourself against the best players.”
The South African briefly speaks on his departure at the end of the season:
“I’m not staying but it hasn’t been confirmed yet where I’m going but I am not staying in Europe so I’m definitely not going to Bath I haven’t spoke to anyone at Bath.
” I really want to leave Munster with great memories that I’ve made already and maybe some silverware as well.”
