LIMERICK City and County Council is planning to commence the design process for a walkway near Lisheen Park in Patrickswell.
Council members were notified of the plans at Monday’s Metropolitan District meeting. It is anticipated that design will commence over the coming weeks, with the delivery of this project depending on funding becoming available in the near future.
Fine Gael councillor and Patrickswell native Dan McSweeney welcomed the news.
“Over the last number of months I have been working with Limerick City and County Council to bring this project forward. We already have a multi use games area that has been cleaned up and we have seen a significant number of children using it over the last number of months,” Cllr McSweeney told the Limerick Post.
“I believe this will be the beginning of providing more recreational projects for Patrickswell as our community grows. I will be continuing to push Limerick City and County Council to be more ambitious for what can be delivered in this area as believe it can provide a wide range of facilities including exercise equipment and a natural playground for the young people of our community.
“Patrickswell has so much potential over the coming years with a number of projects due to commence over the coming months which will enhance the overall community life in our village,” he said.
