MAYOR Daniel Butler and Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien will officially open a 71 home development at Baunacloka Heights, Mungret on Monday.
The development, which comprises 61 three-bed homes and ten two-bed apartments, will be managed by Co-operative Housing Ireland (CHI) with each household being a member of the Ralahine Housing Co-operative.
CHI is an Approved Housing Body working with local authorities and others to meet the housing needs of low-income households on social housing waiting lists. With its membership of democratically controlled local co-operatives, it now manage more than 3,750 homes across Ireland.
Since its foundation in 1973 CHI has provided nearly 7,000 homes through home-ownership, shared ownership and social rented co-operatives.
Baunacloka Heights was delivered in partnership with Limerick City and County Council, the Housing Finance Agency, the Housing Agency and the Department of Housing Local Government and Heritage.
