WITH census enumerators delivering Census 2022 forms door-to-door this month, Gardaí are anxious to ensure that people know what to expect so they feel safe answering their doors.
“The basic rule is if you do not know the person at your door, you should not let them in, but Census enumerators have instructions to remain outside your home,” Limerick Garda Crime Prevention Officer Sgt Ber Leetch explained.
“They will wear a yellow high viz jacket with ‘Census’ on the front and ‘Census Enumerator’ on the back. They will carry a Central Statistics Office satchel and will have an ID badge.
“Please ask to see their ID when they call. If you are anxious, contact your local Gardaí,” Sgt Leetch added.
