DAY two of the 2022 Cheltenham Festival took place yesterday.
After an electric opening to the festival, day two didn’t disappoint at Cheltenham with the weather casuing havoc.
A number of pre race favourites were pulled as the rain poured down in England.

1:30pm – Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle
A real dominant performance from favourite Sir Gerhard kept Journey in Time at arms reach the whole race long before she fell and was more than cable of dealing with the pressure from Three Stripe Life.

2:10pm – Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase
After favorite Bravemansgame fell, L’Homme Presse resumed the favorite odds and boy did he perform. Held back for the first circuit behind Ahoy Senor and when let free was able to fly home past the line with ease

2:50pm – Coral Cup Hurdle
Commander of Feet at 50/1 took this victory. In the worst conditions of the day the horses trucked through this race and the stamina of each were really tested. Fastorslow pushed to the end but the outsider won it on the end.

3:30pm – Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase
Energumene comes out trumps as Shiskin pulls up early. The weather conditions suited the horse perfectly as no real competition was able for everything jumped well and pulled away at the finish to win the race as the favourite never got into the race.

4:10pm – Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase
On his final ride, Tiger Roll couldn’t end a fairytale career with a sixth Cheltenham winners as Jack Kenneddy and Delta Work pipped Davy Russell on the final furlong.
