PEOPLE living in Limerick’s regeneration areas are being encouraged to attend a series of job fairs in their local communities to ‘meet their new employers’.
The first of the job fairs is taking place this Wednesday, March 2 in the Moyross Youth Academy at The Bays from 6 to 8pm.
The event will give an outline of the job opportunities that are currently available in a range of sectors. Many of the companies at the fair have opportunities available so it is possible that attendees could be meeting their new employers.
The aim is to bring employers into the communities and provide local people with direct contact to the opportunities in their company. The event will also provide information on the supports available to engage in further education, training and employment.
Mayor Daniel Butler said acknowledged the effort of companies and organisations in bringing the event to the community.
“This is a great opportunity for residents and people of the neighbouring communities and I would encourage everyone to attend and meet prospective employers.”
“This event enables the community to interact directly with companies and organisations whether it’s a job you are looking for or if further education and training is a preferred route people would like to pursue then this is the place to be,” Mayor Butler added.
