Championship Fixture Changes for both Limerick Senior Footballers and Hurlers

THE news affects both of Billy Lee and John Kiely’s sides.

There have been a number of changes made to the fixtures in this year’s Munster Senior Football and Hurling Championships it has been confirmed.

The changes were made to the Munster Senior Hurling Championship Round-Robin fixtures to remove the scenario of teams playing three weeks in a row.

This also had an impact on the dates for the Munster Senior Football Championship fixtures.

In the Senior Hurling Championship, Limerick are seeking a four-in-a-row as they open their campaign with Cork. They then meet Waterford in the TUS Gaelic Grounds. Their clash with Tipperary has been moved forward a week with the Clare clashed moved to that date instead.

The Footballers meeting with Clare in Cusack Park has been brought forward a day. The semi-fiinal involving the winners of Limerick v Clare and Tipp v Waterford has also been pushed forward a day.

The Munster Senior Hurling Championship fixtures for Rounds 3 and 4 will be swapped with the original Round 4 fixtures now taking place over two weekends (week ending May 1 & 8) while the original Round 3 fixtures will take place on week ending May 15th.

Fixtures for Rounds 1, 2 and 5 remain unchanged.

Times for all fixtures will be confirmed in due course.

Limerick v Tipperary TUS Gaelic Grounds – May 8th (was May 15th

Waterford v Cork at Walsh Park – May 15th (was May 8th)

Clare v Limerick at Cusack Park Ennis – May 15th (was May 8th)  

Changed Fixtures – Munster Senior Football Championship  

Tipperary v Waterford at Fraher Field – April 30th (was May 1st)

Clare v Limerick at Cusack Park Ennis – April 30th (was May 1st

Cork v Kerry at Páirc Ui Rinn – May 7th (venue confirmed – no date change)

Tipperary or Waterford v Clare or Limerick – May 14th (was May 15th
