GARDAÍ have warned that green-fingered thieves are on the lookout for gardening equipment in Limerick city and county.
A power washer was recently taken from an unlocked garden shed in Belfield Gardens on the Ennis Road and two chainsaws stolen from a shed in a farm yard in Bruree.
“It’s important to secure your garden shed with a good quality lock and bolt and install outside sensor lighting for added security,” said Sgt Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street Garda Station.
“And if you are offered any items for sale in suspicious circumstances, consider the fact that this could be stolen property and refuse to buy it,” she advised .
