WATCH | “It was just one of those days” | Tony Considine after Kilmallock’s Munster final loss

BALLYGUNNER and Kilmallock faced off as Ballygunner secured the Munster club Final.

Champions in 2018 Ballygunner once again claimed the Munster Club title with a very impressive performance, outscoring Kilmallock  3-20 to 1-12 as the teams vied for provincial honours in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

This victory tied both sides on three provincial titles each.

After scoring the first points of the match Kilmallock were then barraged by the Ballygunner onslaught and by the fifteenth minute mark the score was 1-6 to 0-2 in Ballygunner’s favour.

From this point on the Waterford side were firmly in the driver’s seat.

After the game Kilmallock manager Tony Considine held praise for Ballygunner saying,

“Ballygunner are good team, lets be honest now let’s take the hats off to Ballygunner right away they are a fantastic team”.

Considine went on to comment on the performance of his team outlining the nature of their below par display.

“We are not as bad as that either, it was just one of these days it went wrong. Its very hard to put your finger on it really. You can say new ground, new place, new stadium but we have no excuse whatsoever I know in my heart and soul and the players know that they are better than that.”

Nonetheless, Considine praised the achievement of the club reaching the provincial final after being nearly dumped out of the Limerick championship in the second round

“If we said that in May that we would be in a Munster Club Final we would have bitten your hand off.”
