LEE captained the Monagea to county honours in November.
Monagea will travel to Mallow this Satruday afternoon for the 2021 Munster Intermediate Ladies Football Final as they take on Kerry’s Castleisland Desmonds.
After overcoming Ballylanders for a second title in four years, Monagea defeated Vally Rovers 2-8 to 0-9 in a hard fought semi-final.
Monagea actually have experience against this weekend’s opponents having met each other in a challenge game earlier this year.
And Lee underlined the challenge at hand for her side.
“We actually played Castleisland earlier on in the year in a challenge. They were missing a couple of girls and they were still so so strong. I know this weekend will be a really tough game. I’m just hoping that we can put in a performance that can get us over the line but we have a huge challenge up against us without a doubt.”
For Lee and thirteen other teammates, this is just the first venture into Munster with the Newcastle West camogie side set to start their provincial journey in January.
With so much experience in big games, Lee is hopeful that they can put in yet another performance, one that will be enough to claim Munster honours.
“We’ve been so lucky getting to county finals but I suppose this is a bit different as a Munster final. There’s extra excitement around it. Your goal at the start of the year is to win the county and you’d never think of Munster but luckily we got there and hopefully we will be able to put in a battle and come out as champions.”
Monagea take on Castleisland Desmonds in the Munster Intermediate Ladies Football Final this Saturday in Mallow at 3.30pm.
