A woman is in a critical condition at University Hospital Limerick (UHL) tonight after she was injured in a multi-vehicle pile up on the M7 motorway, near Nenagh, earlier today.
A major emergency services response operation swung into action following the incident, involving dozens of road ambulance crews, gardai, and the Air Corps 112 air ambulance based in Custume Barracks, Athlone.
A 69-year old woman was rushed to UHL where she is in a “critical” condition tonight, a source said.
Two others were injured, but not seriously, after a truck and a number of cars were involved in collisions.
The M7 remains closed this evening between Junction 26 (Nenagh) and Junction 27 (Birdhill).
“Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a number of collisions on the M7, today, Monday, 6th December 2021. At approximately 1.20pm, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on the M7 near Ballywilliam in Nenagh, Co.Tipperary, involving a number of cars and a truck,” said a garda spokesman.

“Two other women are also receiving treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, no other serious injuries have been reported at this time.”
