A YOUNG man who was standing outside his home was threatened with a knife by another man driving a scooter. The man, aged in his early 20s was standing by his car at College Court Drive in Castletroy on Wednesday evening when he was approached by the would-be thief on a scooter with a knife in his hand. According to Limerick Garda Crime Prevention Officer Sgt Ber Leetch, the man demanded the car keys from the car owner. “The car owner had the sense to turn and run into his house and lock the door and the would-be car thief left with nothing. Be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activity to your local Garda station,” she advised.
