Limerick gardaí report “unusual” car theft

GARDAÍ in Limerick received report of an unusual crime last Wednesday at around 5pm on Plassey Park Road. According to Sgt Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street Garda Station, a woman in her mid-thirties was standing next to her car when the incident occurred. “It was still bright. Suddenly a man walked up to her, snatched the keys of her car from her hand, jumped into her car and drove it away. The woman was very shocked but did manage to give a good description of the man to gardaí. Unfortunately the car has not been recovered to date,” Sgt Leetch explained. “I want to highlight this theft, as I never came across this before in my service.”
