A LIMERICK mother-of-two is calling for supports for people who have had an adverse affect having taken the Covid vaccine.
Jenny Lynch (37) claims she developed Tinnitus – a severe ringing in her ears and hearing impairment – after receiving the first dose of a Pfizer vaccine last July.
Ms Lynch says she has had conflicting medical reports of whether this condition could get worse if she proceeds with a second vaccination.
She said in an interview with the Irish Times newspaper that she is a supporter of vaccination and fears for the health of herself and her family but is now “in limbo” having developed the severe hearing impediment after her first dose.
Ms Lynch has now written to Health Minister Stephen Donnelly seeking support for those who have had adverse impacts from the vaccination.
She said people with such difficulties deserve greater support and added that the HSE is providing very little, other than calls about why she had not attended for a second dose.
Ms Lynch said she has no underlying health conditions and has consulted seven doctors about whether she should proceed to full vaccination and whether her current hearing problems could be permanent.
The Limerick Post has put queries to the Department of Health about the number of complaints it has received concerning possible side effects of the vaccine and whether any support or advice is being offered to sufferers.
