WE ALL want to get behind our local sports clubs but this year, Lisnagry FC Soccer Club based in Castleconnell, are asking for support of a different kind – with a massive sale in new designer underwear this weekend.
The funds raised will go towards developing the existing playing facilities for their members and this up and coming club have extensive plans to further develop the site and make this a destination sporting facility for the wider community.
They have recently applied for Sports Capital Funding for the redevelopment of their main pitch which is waterlogged and unplayable for many months of the year.
In the future, they hope to build a walking track, a floodlit seven-a-side all-weather pitch, a clubhouse that can also be used as a meeting place for small businesses, local clubs and societies.
The aim is and always has been to be an inclusive club with a wide player base, catering for young and old, boys and girls. The club currently caters for underage players from five to 18 with two adult teams at junior level.
Having only recently started girls only soccer, the club already has 60 young women playing each Saturday.
The club motto is ‘equal time for every player, every player in every position’, reflecting a player centric approach to football. Basically, focus less on winning and more on developing the players at their own pace.
With proper facilities, the club will be able to attract many new members and are counting on this amazing opportunity to raise funds to progress their development dream.
The warehouse designer sale this Friday and Saturday (10am to 5pm), will have up to 80 per cent off retail prices of lingerie and underwear, along with ladies fashion, jewellery, and cosmetics.
