THE Limerick Junior A Hurling Championship is into the final round of games.
The final eight in the Limerick Junior A Hurling Championship will be confirmed this weekend with Round 5 to take place.
The group stage of the 24-team competition concludes this weekend with the top two in the four groups advancing the quarter-finals and the bottom team in each group heading into the relegation semi-finals.
Group 1
In group one, Mungret St Pauls received a walkover from Monaleen that guarantees them top spot with a game to play. They are the only sides assured of their place in the quarter-finals. At the other end, Monaleen will compete in the relegation final.
Feenagh Kilmeedy and Doon are level on five points each with the West side having a better scoring difference. They play Mungret while Doon play Monaleen. If both win, Doon will need to overcame a 16 point differential. Patrickswell lie in fourth on four points.
If Doon and Feenagh Kilmeedy both lose, then a win for the ‘Well over Askeaton will see them through. Similarily, a win for the Well and a draw involving Feenagh Kilmeedy and Doon will bring it to scoring difference. Askeaton are out of the reckoning but are safe.

Group 2
There is a three way tie at the top of group two with Kiltely Dromkeen, St Pats and St Kierans all on six points. Kilteely Dromkeen play St Pats in the final round with the winner advancing. A draw and a loss for St Kierans will see both going through. A St Kierans win over Ahane will guarantee their progression. Monagea have an outside chance of progression but need Kilteely to beat Pats, Kierans to lose and they need to beat Garryspillane which will leave three sides on six points which will put it to score differential. Although St Pats are currently 37 points clear in that regard.
Ahane will compete in the relegation final while Garryspillane cannot advance but are safe.

Group 3
Again three sides are deadlocked at the top on six points in Ballybricken Bohermore, Caherline and Crecora Manister. The later duo meet in the last round with the winners advancing.
A draw will also do for both if Ballybricken Bohermore lose. Ballybricken Bohermore know a win will seal their place in the last eight. Templeglantine are on four points and need to beat Ballybricken and hope for a result in the Caherline and Crecora game that will leave three teams on six points.
Drom Broadford face Old Christians where they know a result will keep them safe. A win for Christians will condemn Drom to the relegation decider.

Group 4
As is the case in group 2&3, there are three teams on six points in the form of Killeedy, Castletown Ballyagran and Ballybrown. Castletown Ballyagran take on Killeedy with the winners progressing. A draw and a loss for Ballybrown against Staker Wallace will see both through. A win for Ballybrown will guarantee their progression. Rathkeale will need a big swing of results, needing one of Killeedy or Castletown to win, Ballybrown to lose and a huge upheaval in scoring difference.
Staker Wallace and Claughaun are level at the bottom of the table and deadlocked on scoring difference. Whoever fares better this weekend will be safe while the other will face into the relegatio play offs.
