MUNSTER continued training this week at the High Performance Centre in UL ahead of their URC clash against the DHL Stormers
Thankfully no new injures came from Munster’s bonus point win over the Cell C Sharks in Thomond Park last Saturday.
Munster’s round one fixture of the URC saw the return of Springbok second-row RG Snyman, who only played seven minutes for the province since his arrival last year. Snyman suffered an ACL injury in the opening minutes of Munster’s Pro14 encounter with Leinster last August.
However players within the Munster squad continue to manage injuries, as back-row John Hodnett remains out of action since last November with an achilles tendon injury, hooker Kevin O’Byrne is also set to miss the start of the season due to a leg injury.
Munster appear to be dealing with an unfortunate amount of injuries within their front row, with prop James French sustaining a concussion in the Munster Development XV against Leinster on Friday. He will enter return to play protocols under the supervision of the Munster medical department.
Fellow front row Liam O’Connor is unavailable this week due to a neck injury, but is in line to make a return to training in the coming weeks. Prop Roman Salanoa is continues rehab for a knee injury, making him unavailable for the coming weeks.
Munster and Ireland centre Chris Farrell continues rehab for an ongoing abdomen injury, while new signing Jason Jenkins continues rehab for a Shoulder injury.
