TODAY the Irish Chamber Orchestra launches its new ground-breaking, innovative and freely available online teaching resource, Sing Out With Strings Online. This unique music education website was made possible with initial seed funding from AIB.
Sing Out With Strings Online is filled with a series of inspirational, flexible, engaging and accessible resources including multi-angled performance demonstrations by ICO musicians. This user-friendly site offers downloadable sheet music enabling participants to engage fully with content.
A Meet the Musician section allows users to learn more about specific musicians and their instruments. Sing Out With Strings Online also houses music to accommodate all levels in one place, to be accessed free of charge. It provides teachers and pupils with resources to integrate music into their daily lives and caters for those with a basic level of musical skill right up to a confident progressor level. Irish Chamber Orchestra has always championed a desire for quality music education in schools. It is an instigator for integration and social change, making a difference already in Limerick city providing more than 300 children weekly with free music education through its Sing Out With Strings and Irish Chamber Orchestra Youth Orchestra initiatives over the past 13 years.
