WATCH: “Nothing beats championship” – Na Piarsaigh manager Kieran Bermingham on victory over Kilmallock

FOLLOWING his sides’ 3-16 to 0-15 victory over Kilmallock, Na Piarsaigh manager Kieran Bermingham said that he’s ‘delighted’ with the performance and the result from the LIT Gaelic Grounds.

The current Limerick SHC champions showed their grit in a competitive game without some of their big name players, with the likes of Peter and Mike Casey missing out.

The game was a tight affair but Na Piarsaigh’s extra class showed in the early stages of the second half as Conor Boylan slotted home the first goal of the game to put daylight between the sides.

Speaking after the game, Bermingham praised the squad as a whole and its depth.

“We had no less than six changes from the starting team of the county final and we just got on with it. The guys that came in and the guys that started, deserved to start and just got on with it.”

“Nothing beats championship. The only way to test those guys is to put them in and see where they are and everyone passed with flying colours.”

Late on, David Dempsey and Adrian Breen added the sucker blow of the other two goals for this years heavy favourites Na Piarsaigh.

Bermingham also praised the players who had returned to the camp following their Limerick escapades, saying that they reintegrated into the team ‘seamlessly’ over the week.
