CORK joined Limerick in the All-Ireland final after they beat Kilkenny after extra time in the semi-final yesterday.
Munster rivals Limerick and Cork will meet in the All-Ireland final for the first ever time on August 22 after both came through their respective semi-final meetings over the weekend.
On Saturday evening Limerick had too much for Waterford, defeating the Deise 1-25 to 0-17 in Croke Park to book their place in a second successive final.
Yesterday, Cork looked set for a first final berth since 2013 before a last minute Kilkenny goal sent the game into extra-time.
But despite playing for the third successive week, Cork had the fresher legs in extra-time and held on for a deserved 1-37 to 1-32 win.
Limerick defeated Cork 2-22 to 1-17 when the teams met in the Munster semi-final on July 3.
Throw in on August 22 is 3.30pm in Croke Park with Limerick looking to retain their title for the first ever time.
Cork’s last All-Ireland final win came in 2005, with only two final apperances in the meantime.
Although it will be a first All-Ireland final meeting of the teams, they have met in numerous Munster finals, most recently in 2014 when Cork avenged the defeat of the previous years final.
