LIT is offering over 100 “future-proofing” part-time programmes to suit busy lifestyles. The Department of Flexible Learning at LIT has launched the programmes for September 2021, from LIT’s four faculties of Applied Science and Technology, Business and Humanities, Engineering and the Built Environment and Limerick School of Art and Design.
Welcoming the programme launch for the new academic year, LIT’s Dean of Flexible and Work Based Learning, Seamus Hoyne said, “ Part-time delivery of programmes in a Flexible manner (online, blended or face to face) represents a critical component of the Lifelong Learning strategy of the new Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest. All our programmes are designed to be relevant to those considering future-proofing their careers while working in our regions or indeed across Ireland. Our objective is to deliver relevant learning programmes, in a manner that suits busy lives.
I’m extremely proud of the scale and variety of programmes that we now provide within the Department of Flexible Learning. We have an extensive range of blended and online programmes for 2021/22 and we hope that we will be able to welcome more students back on campus for some of our traditional programmes which require access to our facilities.”he added.
In recent years, LIT has been successful in securing funded or part funded programmes across government upskilling initiatives such as Springboard +, Human Capital Initiative and ICT Skills.
Head of Flexible Learning at LIT, Dr. Philip Hennessy said, “To date we have collaborated with some of the leading companies in our regions to deliver tailored upskilling programmes to suit their employees’ needs. It is with great pleasure that LIT Flexible Learning launch our 2021/22 prospectus. Over the last number of years LIT has expanded our flexible offerings both in the number of qualifications and the academic disciplines these offerings come from. We are very proud of all our programmes and the prospectus is our key means of showcasing them and the services we provide.”
The professional development programmes range from level 6 to Masters level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications and are delivered part time across Limerick, Ennis, Thurles and Clonmel campus locations.
