On this day six years ago, Dublin were too powerful for TJ Ryan’s Limerick as they ran out 1-25 to 0-16 victors in their National League quarter-final in Croke Park.

Dublin led from pillar to post as they booked their place in the National Hurling League semi-finals at the expense of a below par Limerick.
Dublin took the lead in the third minute and never relinquished it in Croke Park.
Early injuries to Donal O’Grady and Seamus Hickey quickly hampered Limerick’s chances as the hosts took control.
Mark Schutte was central to their quick start as the Cuala man chipped in with three first half points for a 0-14 to 0-8 advantage at the short whistle.
Things would go from bad to worse for Limerick early into the second half as Schutte pounced for the games only goal after 37 minutes to propel the Dubs ten points clear.
But led by the impressive Graeme Mulcahy who clipped over 0-4, Limerick had four successive scores midway through the second period to reduce the margin.
Dublin were able to snuff out any sight of a comeback however and six in a row down the stretch would seal a twelve point win and signal the end of Limerick’s league campaign.
