THERE was a full day of racing at the Limerick racecourse on Sunday with seven races including the Grade 2 Charleville Cheese Irish EBF Mares Novice Chase.
The day kicked off with a huge outside winner as Andrew Maxwell was on board the 50/1 shot Behind the Wall who finished ahead of Awkwafina and Iberia in the 13.45 Murroe Hurdle.
A late surge from 13/2 Darren’s Hope under Kevin Brouder saw them take the Grade 3 Kerrygroup EBF ShannonSparay Novice Hurlde at 14.15 ahead of Ballyshannon Rose and Sayce Gold.
Donagh Meyler eased the pre-race favourite Scarlet and Dove home in the Grade 2 Charleville Cheese Irish EBF Mares Novice Chase at 14.45.
Glorious Galway was the winner in the 15.20 Patrickswell Handicap Chase for the Glorious Galway syndicate winning in front of the only other finisher Classic Concorde.
Mercury Lane was the clear winner in the Fedamore Maiden Hurdle for Paul Nolan as the 4/7 favourite finished way ahead of Smokey the Bandit and Earth’s Furies.
Seangoell stormed to the 16.25 with a late burst to overtake Iridescent and Mr Bercow under JJ Slevin.
Flame Bearer took final race of the day in the Adare (Pro-Am) Flat Race at 17.00 for Pat Doyle and Pat King with 3 and a half lengths to spare ahead of Teescomponentsyess.
