LIMERICK and Feohanagh legend Jack Quaid passed away peacefully in the UHL on February 22.
Quaid represented his club and county with great distinguish throughout an illustrious career. In 1954 he won a county junior title with Feohanagh and captured a Junior All-Ireland title with Limerick the same year.
For his county he also captured a Munster Senior Hurling Championship in 1955 and also won a Railway Cup medal with Munster.
Just a couple of days prior to his passing, his grandson Nickie won his first All-Star, following in the footsteps of Jack’s late son Tommy who won an award in 1992. They are only the fourth ever father and son duo to win All Stars.
Jack is predeceased by his wife Bridie and son Tommy. Deeply regretted by his daughter Noreen (Herlihy), sons Seamus, John and Pat, son-in-law Donie, daughters-in-law Breda, Triona and Cathy, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

For those who would like to pay their respects, the funeral cortege will depart from Jack’s residence at 1.30pm on Wednesday 24th February, via Coolyroe on route to Castlemahon Church for private family requiem Mass at 2pm, in accordance with government guidelines. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery.
