IRELAND kick off their Six Nations campaign this weekend with a trip to Cardiff to take on Wales.

For the Irish squad, there will be a familiar face back on among the team with former Lions and Ireland captain Paul O’Connell now a coach to the side.

Ahead of the game with Wales, O’Connell spoke about his initial experience within the National set up.

“It’s been a massive workload from the start. It’s been good. It’s a very different environment from the end of my playing career, different from my time in France. With Covid it’s even more different.

“It’s challenging but we have a great set up, there’s plenty of engagement with the players and they seem to be enjoying it. It’s different and challenging but good fun.”
