LIMERICK acts Denise Chaila and PowPig were among 189 acts to perform at this year’s Eurosonic Noorderslag festival in The Netherlands.
The showcase festival and music conference, running since 1986, attracts international festival bookers in early January every year looking to fill their lineups and discover new talent who can perform a killer live set.
This year’s festival was an online event due to the Covid-19 pandemic with artists performing remotely and the online edition was viewed by music professionals and fans from 124 different countries.
Robert Meijerink, head of programming for the festival reported “We are truly overwhelmed by the positive feedback, with many saying a new standard has been set, which is amazing and the digital edition has exceeded our wildest expectations. We really hope we can organise a physical edition in 2022 and be together once again, but we will also expand our online ventures next year.”
