TREATY United captain and centre-back Marie Curtin has announced her retirement from football this evening following an eventful career at international level and Women’s National League level.

Curtin is a very experienced and well respected player in the women’s game and lists Cork City, Galway, Wexford, Limerick FC and Treaty United among her clubs at the elite level of the game in the country.
The centre-back played with a host of local clubs in Limerick and began her career at Trinity Rangers.
She went on to thank all clubs and national teams that she represented during her distinguished career.
Furthermore, Curtin was full of praise for former Treaty United managers Dave Rooney and Irene Hehir and she credits them for her longevity in the game. Curtin made a number of appearances for Treaty United in the clubs maiden season as Women’s National League level. It will be all change at the club now with Rooney, Hehir and Curtin all departing in the last week. She went on to wish the Limerick based club well for the future.
