Former Limerick Striker Mahdy Departs UCD

Yoyo Mahdy

FORMER Limerick FC u-19 striker Yoyo Mahdy has left Airtricity League First Division club UCD after four years with the Dublin based club.

Mahdy made quite an impact with the Students during his time with the club and was the team’s top goal scorer last season as they missed out on promotion to the Premier Division in the play-off semi-final against newly promoted Longford Town.

Mahdy was also named in the PFAI First Division Team of the Year alongside fellow UCD players Liam Kerrigan and Colm Whelan. He was also nominated for the PFAI Player of the Year award as he amassed an impressive 16 goals in 18 games in 2020.

Mahdy’s outstanding achievement with the club was the 2018 First Division title success. Unfortunately, the team were relegated the following season but the pacey striker will now be a massive loss to Andy Myler as he plans for the 2021 campaign.
