Ken answers the call for burly men and needs your vote

A LIMERICK man is one of the finalists in a competition run by a new fashion and lifestyle brand to become the public face of the Irish company.
The search for Ireland’s first BRLY (pronounced ‘burly’) male model saw hundreds of entries from across the country. Hopefuls were whittled down to a final list of ten to become the ‘Face of BRLY’ in 2021.

One of the finalists is Limerick man Ken Greaney (above), a 39-year-old, rugby-loving civil servant.
Ken and the nine other finalists are now looking for a public vote to be the face of Ireland’s new fashion and lifestyle brand for burly males.

A spokesman said that “BURLY want to make bigger, burlier guys feel confident, whatever their shape and size. The concept came about from their own struggle to find fashionable and functional men’s clothing for bigger guys, something not widely available in the market currently”.

The Irish start-up  hopes to shift the traditional concept of healthy male bodies as athletic and toned, to a more accurate reflection of the shape of Irish men across the country. The company aims to do this through their own line of plus size clothing.
