A number of break-ins in Limerick City and County

Gardai are investigating burglaries in Bruree, Croom and Kilmallock and also in Castletroy where a young man who is living in student accommodation had his laptop stolen from his ground floor bedroom. Unfortunately he had left the bedroom window open.

A house in the Shelbourne Road area was broken into when the owners left their back door unlocked at night. Their kitchen was entered and two  watches were taken along with a credit card, which was then used by the thief in a supermarket, an off- licence and a garage in Limerick city.

Sgt Ber Leetch said that “criminals are so quick and can spot a chance to steal in a flash. We must check that every means of entry to our home is secure even when we are in the home and don’t give anybody the opportunity to steal from you.”
