JUST over a week ago, Donal Ryan’s Limerick Ladies Footbalers confirmed their place in the All-Ireland Junior Football Championship semi-final as they recorded a 2-8 to 1-5 win over Antrim.
That followed a comprehensive win over Derry in the first round.
Limerick would have to wait for yesterday’s game between Carlow and Fermanagh to discover their final opponents.
In the end Fermanagh would come out on top, 3-9 to 2-10 to set up a clash with Limerick on the weekend of the 21st January.
In the other semi-final, Antrim will face Wicklow, who won both of their group games.
Limerick will be hopeful of a repeat of the 2018 Junior championship where they would run out eventual winners.
That year, Limerick’s opponents Fermanagh contested the Intermediate Final where they lost out to Longford by six points,
While Limerick were relegated from the second tier in 2019, Fermanagh would lose a second consecutive final, this time the Junior against Louth, who the Treaty beat in 2018.
