YESTERDAY, Limerick put in one of their finest perfromancs under John Kiely to book a spot in a second consecutive Muster final after they beat Tipperary 3-23 to 2-17 in Paric Ui Chaoimh,
They will now play Waterford in the final in a fortnight’s time.
Speaking after the game, John Kiely said he was happy to get through a ‘tough battle’ with Tipp as he praised the impact of those off the bench.
“They all (subs) contributed well. It took them a few minutes to get settled into it. Given the conditions, it is really had to come into a game as a sub like that so to have contributed what they did, I am very pleased”
Kiley also discussed the decision to move Kyle Hayes to wing back and Cian Lynch up to centre-forward.
”It’s important that we are versatile and that we have a number of different options available to us. For Cian it’s not that different because he is coming into that middle third anyway so he gathered a lot of ball in areas that he would ordinarily gather ball anyway so that was no different.
“Kyle came back last year in the All-Ireland semi final to centre back and more than acquitted himself there and for him to go wing back is a very natural thing for him.”
