THE nominees for the 2020 Zurich Players’ Player of the Year Award have been announced.
Celebrating the achievements of Irish rugby players both on and off the field, the Zurich Irish Rugby Players Awards will be broadcast on Virgin Media Two on Saturday, 17th October after the Champions Cup Final.
Andrew Conway is nominated for the top gong of the night, the Zurich Players’s Player of the Year for a string of brilliant performances for club an country.
He is nominated alongside Leinster duo Garry Ringrose and James Lowe and Ulster’s John Cooney.
Conway could also bag the award for Try of the Year with his effort against Ospreys in the Champions Cup late last year nominated.
The retiring Louise Galvin is joined on the shortlist for Women’s 7s Player of the Year by Kathy Baker and Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe, who has won the award on three previous occasions.
Shane Daly makes the shortlist for the Nevin Spence Young Player of the Year after excelling at full back both sides of lockdown.
Billy Holland has been nominated for the Zurich Contribution to Society Award.
The Zurich Contribution to Society Award recognises those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to bring about impactful change with Holland joined by Ultan Dillane and Andrew Porter on the shortlist.
