AFTER a hectic weekend of action, we crowned the Senior and Intermediate Hurling champions, with a couple of Senior Football quarter-finals thrown in for good measure.

Limerick Senior Hurling Championship Final
On Saturday night, Na Piarsaigh secured their sixth SHC title in style as they destroyed Doon 5-27 to 1-12 in the LIT Gaelic Grounds.
The sides began by trading scores before Na Piarsaigh pushed into the ascendancy.
David Dempsey had the first goal of the half and his side were 1-12 to 0-9 to the good at the short whistle.
Dempsey added a second, another spectacular score after 33 minutes as Na Piarsaigh moved ten clear.
Doon did reply with a goal from a penaty from Barry Murphy but it would offer little reprieve as goals from Peter Casey (x2) and Adrian Breen saw the Caherdavin side coast to an impressive victory.
It is their sixth triumph since their maiden win in 2011.

Limerick Senior Football Championship
There were a pair of quarter-finals in the Limerick SFC down for decision on Saturday.
Ballylanders and Monaleen kicked off proceedings in Bruff.
An an even first half, the City side were 0-6 to 0-5 to the good at the half.
They were 0-7 to 0-6 ahead approaching the final water break when Jimmy Barry Murphy struck for the all important goal.
Monaleen could not find a three pointer of their own down the home stretch as Ballylanders moved into the final four after a 1-8 to 0-9 win.
They will be joined in the semi finals by Ballysteen who had a superb 0-14 to 0-8 win over Fr Caseys later that afternoon.
Ballysteen lead from start to finish as they overwhelmed the pre match favourites in the final quarter.
They lead by double scores 0-6 to 0-3 at the short whistle but saw thier advantage reduced to 0-7 to 0-6 heading into the final water break.
From here however, they would double their score to upset the odds and reach a first semi-final since 2012.
Both must await the results from the Wednesday night quarter finals to see who they will face in the last four.
Those games are between Adare and Newcastle in Mick Neville Park and Oola against Galbally in Kilbreedy.

Intermediate Hurling Championship Final
Newcastle West were able to right the wrongs of 2019 as they made it second time lucky in the Limerick Intermediate Hurling final, beating Na Piarsaigh 1-24 to 1-22 in the decider on Sunday.
Diarmuid Moran Kelly had the games first goal which has his side one ahead, 1-7 to 0-9 at the break.
Newcastle’s lead was five approaching the final whistle but a late rally from Na Piarsaigh sent the game to extra time as it finished 1-15 apiece.
They were still deadlocked at 1-20 each at the half in extra time.
But, the West side would pick up the final two scores of the game to secure the win and promotion to the Premier Inttermedate Grade.

Limerick Intermediate Football Championship
We are down to the final four in the Limerick IFC after each of the quarter-finals were played over the weekend.
Goal hungry Mungret St Pauls were the first side into the last four as they overcame Glin 4-11 to 1-11.
St Senans joined them on Saturday as they beat Kildimo Pallaskenry 1-14 to 0-9 in Askeaton.
Last year’s beaten finalists Gerald Griffins repeated their quarter final win from 2019 as they beat Rathkeale 1-12 to 0-6 on Sunday afternoon.
Claughaun completed the final four as they beat city rivals St Patricks 2-13 to 2-10.
In the semi-finals, Gerald Griffins will take on Mungret while St Senans meet Claughaun.
Pallasgreen staved off relegation fears as they condemned Mountcollins to the final with Monaleen after beating the West side 1-12 to 0-9 on Sunday.

Limerick Junior A Hurling Championship
There were a couple of surprises in the quarter-finals of the Limerick JAHC as table toppers Castletown Ballyagran and Kileedy were both eliminated form the competition at the hands of Patrickswell and Drom Broadford respectively.

Limerick Junior A Football Championship
There were a couple of shock results in the JAFC as early pace setters Athea were eliminated by Crecora Manister. Monagea laid down a statement of intent with a big win over Fr Caseys. Elsewhere, last year’s finalists Croom moved past Ballybrown.
