Limerick based Writers’ Cooperative ‘WritePace’ will hold its first public event on Friday September 18 (Culture Night 2020).
Readings From Above The River will feature work by 14 Limerick creative writers who came together to work as a writers’ group over two years ago. Friday’s event was filmed on the balcony of The Strand Hotel overlooking the River Shannon. Produced by Limerick writer and academic Eoin Devereux, the event will be broadcast via Facebook and Youtube on September 18 from 8pm.
Readings From Above The River will feature work by writers Dan Mooney, Bob Bourke, Sarah Moore-Fitzgerald, Eoin Devereux, Grainne O’Brien, Hilda McHugh, Sheila Killian, Noel Harrington, Jo Gibney, Cat Hogan, Vivienne McKenchie, Kerry Neville and Jackie O’Shaughnessy.
Eoin Devereux, who has curated the readings added: “WritePace is further evidence of the cultural renaissance taking place in Limerick. Filmed over the Shannon, it is redolent of the vibrant cultural scene in late 1960s Limerick when people like Seamus O’Cinneide and others organized readings in King John’s Castle.”
Expect lots more from WritePace soon.
