THE Vertex Foundation, a nonprofit charitable foundation, today announced a โ‚ฌ1 million donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) to support the construction of a Ronald McDonald House at the new childrenโ€™s hospital in Dublin, Ireland.

The donation will support the building of a 53-bedroom Ronald McDonald House at the new childrenโ€™s hospital, which will provide a home for families with seriously ill children.

โ€œWe are delighted to support Ronald McDonald House Charities as they create this amazing new facility that will provide the highest level of support to families from across Ireland,โ€ said Michael Parini,ย Chairman of the Vertex Foundationย and Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative, Legal and Business Development Officer atย Vertex.

โ€œItโ€™s so important for a childโ€™s family to be close by when they are in the hospital, and this House will provide that opportunity to parents and families when they need it most.โ€

โ€œThis extraordinary gift from the Vertex Foundation will help us provide family-centered care and spaces for families so they can be together during a critical time in their lives,โ€ said Marian Carroll, CEO (Volunteer), RMHC, Ireland. โ€œWe are grateful for their recognition and support of our mission.โ€

This marks the second donation by the Foundation to charitable organizations in Ireland this year. In February, a donation of โ‚ฌ250,000 was made to Barretstown to fund a siblings camp program that the organization runs to support families who have a child living with a serious illness. The Vertex Foundation is also supporting RMHC in San Diego with the construction of a new family welcome center.
