THE Vertex Foundation, a nonprofit charitable foundation, today announced a €1 million donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) to support the construction of a Ronald McDonald House at the new children’s hospital in Dublin, Ireland.

The donation will support the building of a 53-bedroom Ronald McDonald House at the new children’s hospital, which will provide a home for families with seriously ill children.

“We are delighted to support Ronald McDonald House Charities as they create this amazing new facility that will provide the highest level of support to families from across Ireland,” said Michael Parini, Chairman of the Vertex Foundation and Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative, Legal and Business Development Officer at Vertex.

“It’s so important for a child’s family to be close by when they are in the hospital, and this House will provide that opportunity to parents and families when they need it most.”

“This extraordinary gift from the Vertex Foundation will help us provide family-centered care and spaces for families so they can be together during a critical time in their lives,” said Marian Carroll, CEO (Volunteer), RMHC, Ireland. “We are grateful for their recognition and support of our mission.”

This marks the second donation by the Foundation to charitable organizations in Ireland this year. In February, a donation of €250,000 was made to Barretstown to fund a siblings camp program that the organization runs to support families who have a child living with a serious illness. The Vertex Foundation is also supporting RMHC in San Diego with the construction of a new family welcome center.
