Limerick Senior Hurling Championship
The last four in the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship were confirmed over the weekend as Na Piarsaigh and Doon joined group winners Patrickswell and Kilmallock in the semi-finals.
On Saturday evening in the Gaelic Grounds, Na Piarsaigh took on Senior B side Ballybrown in the quarter-finals. Despite the big losses of Colin Couglan and Mikey Kiely, Ballybrown had the first score of the game through Aidan O’Connor.
However, that would be as good as it would get for the Clarina side as Na Piarsaigh began to flex their muscles as they lead 0-14 to 0-6 at the short whistle. They would continue to keep their opponents at arms-length for the final half hour as it finished 0-26 to 0-13 in their favour as they booked a place in the semi-finals against Patrickswell.
On Sunday, Doon joined them in the last four with a 3-20 to 2-12 win over South Liberties. It wasn’t plain sailing for Doon as they trailed 1-2 to 0-0 early on with David O’Neill raising the green flag.
Darragh Stapleton’s goal gave Doon their first lead approaching the half as they lead by the minimum at the break. Pat Ryan would goal shortly after the restart as Doon took control. Micheal Ryan’s goal with ten to play had them nine points clear but Brian Ryan’s goal gave Liberties some hope.
However, Doon would push on into a fourth consecutive semi-final where they will play Kilmallock.
Ballybrown and South Liberties will meet to determine who is promoted to the Senior A grade.
Blackrock were crowned County Cup champions as they beat Monaleen 1-20 to 0-19 in the decider in Caherconlish.

Limerick Premeier Intermediate Hurling Championship
The final pairing in the Limerick Premier Intermediate Championship is set after Kildimo Pallaskenry and Mungret St Pauls were victorious in the last four.
In Kilmallock, an early blitz from Kildimo Pallaskenry set the tone as they were 1-7 to 0-2 ahead of Bruff at the first water break with Paudi Hartigan getting the goal. The gap was 1-13 to 0-4 at the half.
Bruff, did respond in the second half but as they did at the start, a late blitz by the City side saw them cruise to a 3-20 to 0-15 win and a second consecutive final berth. Darren O’Connell and Kyle Hayes accounted for the final two goals and 2-9 overall with John Kiely’s prominent throughout.
Meanwhile, Mungret St Pauls’ dogged 0-22 to 1-14 win over Glenroe in Bruff secured a rematch with Kildimo Pallaskenry in the final of the competition. Mungret were the quickest out of the blocks but a Glenroe goal had them deserved 1-9 to 0-9 leaders at the half.
Mungret would draw level inside the opening ten minutes of the second half and had a slender 0-17 to 1-13 lead at the final water break.
That advantage remained at one with ten to play but Glenroe would not score again as Mungret pushed clear to reach a first ever Premier Intermediate decider.
Elsewhere, Dromin Athlacca preserved their Premier Intermediate status as their 2-25 to 1-19 win over Bruree relegated their rivals. The sides were level at 2-9 to 1-12 at half time with David Breen and Dave Reidy notching for Dromin Athlacca with James Vincent O’Brien on the end of Bruree’s goal.
A powerful second half by Dromin Athlacca was key to their victory as they outscored their opponents 0-16 to 0-7 to maintain their place in the division.

Intermediate Hurling Championship
Bruree will be replaced by one of Newcastle West, Feohanagh, Croom or Na Piarsaigh in the Premier Intermediate Grade as each came through their respective quarter final clashes.
On Saturday, Newcastle West reached a second successive semi final as they overcame Pallasgreen 3-15 to 1-17 in Kilbreedy. On Sunday afternoon, Na Piarsaigh’s second side followed in the footsteps of their senior team as their 1-17 to 1-14 win secured a place in the last four.
That evening Seamus Flanagan’s goal would prove the difference between Feoghanagh and Knockaderry while Croom were the last side to book their place in the semi finals with a 1-22 to 1-18 win over Kilmallock.
St Patricks or Granagh Ballingarry will be relegated to the Junior Ranks as they lost to Tournafulla and Effin respectively in the relegation semi-finals.

Junior A Hurling Championship
With just one round remaining in the group stages of the Junior A hurling championship, there are a number of teams who are safely through in the competition.
In Group 1, Castletown Ballyagran are four from four and will top the group with Doon guaranteed to finish in second.
In the second Group, Croagh Kilfinny are assured of their place in the last eight.
It is still up for grabs in Group 3 with Clauaghaun and Crecora Manister certain of quarter final places in the last group.
