€100,000 has been allocated towards the extension of the footpath from Clarina Cross to Thorpes Nursing Home as part of the Government’s Jobs Stimulus funding for Active Travel.
Welcoming the allocation, local Fine Gael councillor Dan McSweeney said the extension to the footpath would significantly improve the safety of those walking to Ballybrown GAA Club, Clarina village and also those walking from Clarina village to Thorpes Nursing Home.
“This is a significant investment in the Ballybrown/Clarina area which has been overlooked for funding over the last number of years,” he commented.
