Limerick Connections exhibition at Limerick City Gallery of Art

LIMERICK City Gallery of Art (LCGA) presents, Limerick Connections, an exhibition from the Permanent Collections of works by 67 artists associated with Limerick from the 70s to the present day.

The exhibition has a strong focus on painting. The diverse nature of the exhibition is an insightful appraisal of how techniques and subject matter have changed over the last fifty years but the fundamental gesture of painting remains the same.

It seemed appropriate after this period of lockdown to present this treasure trove of works by artists with strong connections to Limerick are deservedly celebrated here in this group exhibition at LCGA.

Featured Artists include: Analog Devices, Robert Baker, Dietrich Blodau, Vivienne Bogan, Anne Brennan, Jamie Burke, Erika Cagney, Michael Canning, Diana Copperwhite, Carl Doran, Joe Duggan, Susan Dunne, Jack Donovan, Pauline Fitzgerald, Tom Fitzgerald, Mike Fitzpatrick, Martin Folan, Charles Harper RHA, Kate Hennessy, Gavin Hogg, Tim Humphrise.

Running alongside this is a selection of works from the First Exhibition in 1937 and acquisitions made between then and 1948 when the East Gallery was opened and a permanent home for the Collection was achieved.
