Andrew Murphy takes on Ryanair role

ANDREW Murphy, who resigned his position as managing director of Shannon Airport earlier this month, has joined Ryanair as their Director of Revenue Management.

Having joined the Shannon Group in March 2014 as Chief Commercial Officer, he was appointed Managing Director of Shannon Airport in January 2017.

He previously held Associate Director and Senior management positions in Ulster Bank’s Corporate Banking division. He also worked in hotel management and ran his own business before joining Ulster Bank.

A chartered certified accountant with degrees in business studies and hotel management, he was the second high-profile departure from Shannon Group over the past month, following on the departure of Shannon Heritage Managing Director Niall O’Callaghan who has responsibility for the group’s portfolio of visitor attractions.
