AS the Limerick District League resumption is only four and a half weeks away, Premier Division clubs are continuing their recruitment drive. Prospect Priory and Pike Rovers have been by far the busier of the clubs and have added two more experienced players to their ranks.
Robbie Williams has added another option in defence with the signing of Lee O’Mara, previously with Janesboro for the past number of years. O’Mara won three Premier Division titles and an FAI Oscar Traynor Trophy in the last four years.
He can play at both right-back and centre-back but was mainly at the heart of the defence for his former club. Pike announced the signing on Sunday afternoon on their official Twtter and Facebook pages.
“We’re delighted to announce the signing of Lee O’Mara. Lee will be a great addition to the squad and we look forward to seeing him wearing the Hoops.”
O’Mara becomes Pike’s fifth signing in a week and joins former teammates Danny O’Neill and Aaron Grant at Crosagalla.
Prospect Priory also added a fourth player to their squad as they captured the signature of striker Ger Myles who was Coonagh’s top scorer last season.
Prospect announced the signing on Thursday evening.
“We are delighted announce that we secured the services of – Ger Myles from Coonagh Utd. We have no doubt that Ger will add some serious quality to our attacking line-up and we all look forward to seeing them play for Prospect Priory for the coming season…” PPFC
Myles joins Jason Mullins, John Boyle and Josh O’Rahilly in signing for the Hyde Road based club.
